A Little Something

My newest zine, hot off the press. "A Little Something ZINE" is a small zine full of small things- charms, postage stamps and inchies, all reproduced actual sized. Comes with a matchbox full of actual charms, postage and inchie blanks, as well as a template for creating a matchbox "cozy".
An unplanned detail was dedicating the project to the memory of my sister Anne. She was brutally stabbed to death this past Monday. Finishing the zine was very cathartic for me. Please be praying for my husband and I as we fly to Detroit for the funeral this weekend and for my family as we deal with the shock and grief. I am the oldest of 4 surviving siblings (a brother and 2 sisters). Anne was my second from youngest sister, only aged 36, and has left 4 kids ages 6- 13. It is horrific for us all. We strongly believe her ex-husband (the kids' father) did the heinous act. He is still at large, in Ohio now, driving her van and using her credit cards. He has done nothing to cover his tracks so it's only a matter of time before he is apprehended.

Nathalie,

Now that I know more of the story, I'm saddened even more. I don't know if you'll see this before Monday or even be able to or up to it, but I'm only an hour and a half from Detroit and would be blessed to meet you and hug you in person. I'm working this weekend, but I have Monday and Tuesday off. This may be a bold and unwanted suggestion, or it may be what you need. Only God knows. If it's an option, e-mail me and I can give you my cell phone number (actually, it may be somewhere on the CPA site, but I have no idea where, and I'm sure you don't want to spend time looking for it.) Know that I am praying for you, your family, Anne's children, and her ex-husband. I am glad that God put it on my heart to share with you Phil. 4:7. Isn't God's peace wonderfully amazing?

Prayers and blessings,
Carrie

Ladies, thank you for your prayers! It means so much!
I am writing from my youngest sister's house (currently caring for the kids). Yesterday's memorial lunch was amzing. 75 poeple were expected, 250 showed up, includingthe my nephews' hockey teams. Parents pulled their kids out of school and came in hockey jerseys. Amazing support. Friends have come out of the woodwork offering condolensences, financial support, food and their presence. Overwhelming! A showering of blessings.

An update I am not able to post on my blog, because it's not letting me compose in non-HTML verbage. Anyone having trouble with posting on their blog?
Anne's ex-husband turned himself in this morning. I guess he was tired of running. He went into a diner in Pittburg, had breakfast and then told the waitress to call the police.
It is a relief for us all. Closure.

Now to get through a private, family only viewing this afternoon, memorial church service and a memorial dinner this evening.

Oh my goodness Nathalie! I just found your contact info on my blog and was just about to write you when I saw this on your blog. I cannot even begin to say how broken my heart is for you and your family. I am so sorry to hear of this tragedy...I can't even get my mind around this. I will of course be praying for you guys and Anne's children. "I lift up my eyes to the hills....where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth." Psalm 121
Long-distance, but heartfelt hugs, Angela

Nathalie, I'm so so sorry. What a hhorrible thing for you and your family to deal with. How very sad for Anns children, your parents, you, your sibs. I pray that God will comfort you in this awful time, and that the authorities will bring Ann's killer to justice.
I logged on to tell you that I got the beautiful tag and ephemera, but that doesn't seem important now. Thanks though. God bless you.

OMG, I've done it backwards -I emailed you and then came to catch up here. This is so sad for all of you, and especially for the children to loose their mum and such a way. Heartbreaking.
