Remember my altered playing cards from a few posts ago? They are now banners for Linda's
Christian Paper Artists' Valentine banner swap. I used a large background stamp to decorate the backs of the banners and the scrap cardstock I overstamped on (think- the banners are triangular, the stamp is rectangular so there is design going off the edges onto the card stock I protected my work surface with...) became the "sew pretty" Valentine card below, with the addition of the Stampland maiden's face.
Linda's needle cases (her Jan. 19 post) were my inspiration for the needle filled heart. I happened to have some vintage needles attached to red foil paper. I cut out the heart, replaced the needles and now I have a lovely greeting with a practical embellishment. For the woman who has taken up sewing "snippets".

Wow! I love both. I am ready to just handmake things and give up on trying to go digital.;( It irritates me. I also like the sensory experience of actually touching the paper and embellishments. Anyway....I did get it to work and just have to print those suckers out tomorrow. Fun times.
oooo love the banner, inspired use of the cards, might just have to hunt out the ones I found at the market and have a go, don't have to stand up for this one do I?
Fab colours in the needle gal!

Nathalie, Both are fab. I really dig the heart shaped needle holder and that gorgeous card. I have really enjoyed seeing your art on CPA and your blog. I want to give you an award for your blog. You can find it on my blog. http://hastingshall2.blogspot.com/2009/01/beautiful-blog-award-from-sharon.html

So Pretty sweetie!! And I Love the blue background!!!hughugs
Both these projects are wonderful! I love the red foil heart with the vintage needles. I'm going to have to look in my sewing supplies and see what I can come up with.
And what a great way to recycle playing cards!
