Going on Vacation

Tomorrow the kids and I fly up to Michigan to visit with my youngest sister and mom for 3 weeks.  Yep, it's a long time, and halfway through it, I hope my family doesn't feel like we've over stayed our welcome. Ha!  It's just that I only get to see them about every two years or so, so wanted to make the most of the cost of flying (with the price of gas, it would have cost just as much to make the 16 hour drive by car!)  The kids and I are pretty excited.  Rebecca has never flown and Victoria is looking forward to shopping.  Seth is anticipating shopping for Legos.  I can't wait to see my sister and mom!
I have to tell you about this vacation photo.  I sold a camera to a gentleman named Jeff Applegate and added some old negatives to his package as something extra (just because I like to do that).  Turns out he loves "found" stuff like that and kindly scanned the negs and sent me copies of the photos. I was thrilled to get them!  Can you believe the quality of the color even after all of these years?  The picture is from 1960.

I am keeping my etsy shop open, even though I am away from my inventory.  Any purchases made after tonight won't get mailed until August 1st.  Who knows, I might add some inventory while I'm up in Michigan.  Both my mom and sister are serious thrift store shoppers and garages salers.  It runs in my family!

Ta for now. I hope you are having a lovely summer!

Brilliant photo, how great that your camera buyer developed it and sent it to you. Have a great time with your mum and sister.

How funny about the negative... I love the mountain peak is right over her head. Have a great visit.... don't take anything personally, treasure each moment and do make something creative... those are great memories to have.
