Dining Room- It's Tea Tuesday!

You have to understand that I am excited to have a room that is dedicated to dining. In our old house, the dining room was the center of the house which sounds domestically poetic and all, but what it really meant was that the dining table became the catch-all for homework papers, unopened and opened mail, art projects in progress, coats, mittens, toys, laundry and stuff. Anything anyone was too lazy to put away in its proper place, deal with or just plain throw out.

In short, we rarely actually dined in the dining room.

Now in this house, the only thing that covers the dining table is a table cloth. And there is always room to dine at the table. You cannot imagine how wonderful that is to me! And yes, that is a plate rail that goes all the way around the room. In fact, I ran out of dishes to display- guess I will just have to buy more! heehee!

So today, dear readers, although I am not having tea I can host you at a moment's notice.

Drop by anytime.

My table is always ready to receive guests!

Your new dining room looks like the perfect place to entertain all us tea drinkers on Tuesday. And I love all the orphans you have on your table, too. Since I live alone, I make a habit of never leaving anything on my dining room table. It is too old and rare to clutter it with anything except a few candles. I'm so glad you like your new room.

Yep! Our dining room table is a catch all. No matter now many times I clean it off, it just winds up a mess by the end of the week. Ugh! The plate rack is a nice touch! Have a great rest of the day. Tammy

Wish I could pop round right now for a cuppa.

Our dining room is in the centre of everything too and, despite my best efforts, is always cluttered with something or other. It's a big table so it all gets shoved to the end for when we eat, not very attractive :o(

Gorgeous plate rail, great excuse for plate hunting.

Is that a built in china hutch? Love the pulls on the drawers! Wow, wish I could come dine there! But, now you have to share where does all the mail, junk, coats, and "life" go now?!
We have a dining room in the center of the house and mostly it is the kid's game table/ drawing/ art space. We've only dined there on birthdays/holidays for the last 6 years. I know sad, but true. The "catchall" for us is a counter in the laundry room and the kitchen island.
